Walking the Path of Blessing
From John 13:1-17 we saw Jesus demonstrate the extent of His love
to His disciples by choosing to wash their dirty feet. It was an act of
service. He said in the New Living Translation of 1996, verses 15 and
17, “I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.
You know these things—now do them! That is the path of blessing.”
Now that Revive Ministries has had it’s first
conference on February 9, 2008, we praise God for the wonderful
response He gave us through 200 attendees. Many have chosen to
volunteer for acts of service and walk the path of blessing. The focus
of my message was “God blesses those who serve.”
After reading and meditating on Psalm 128 this
week, we were asked to write our own Psalm. I have chosen to relate it
to Revive Ministries because the subject is “Enjoying the blessing of
God!” My prayer is that God will bless you and cause you to read and
meditate on this Psalm and see how He wants to apply it in your life.
Psalm 128:1-6 New Living Translation, 1996
“How happy are those who fear the LORD—all who follow His ways! You
will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How happy you will be! How rich
your life! Your wife will be like a fruitful vine, flourishing within
your home. And look at all those children! There they sit around your
table as vigorous and healthy as young olive trees. That is the LORD’s
reward for those who fear Him. May the LORD continually bless you from
Zion. May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live. May you live
to enjoy your grandchildren. And may Israel have quietness and peace.”
Psalm 128:1-6 My paraphrase, 2008!
“As
Revive Ministries’ volunteers fear the Lord and walk in His ways, they
will experience God’s blessings and feel happiness in their own area of
service. As we put our whole heart into serving, we will enjoy the
fruit of our labor and we will be blessed with the richness of this
kind of life. We will each be like a fruitful mother with many
spiritual children (young or old) in our place of encouragement. That
is the LORD’s reward for those who fear Him. May the Lord continually
bless Revive from heaven so that we see the spiritual prosperity of
Oklahoma City all the days of our lives, and be blessed with many
spiritual children from the next generation. Peace be to Oklahoma
City.”
